Workplace Dating Disasters, Wild Animals & Richmond Baseball | MFS #1053

About this Episode

Mason and Ju Unit take it old-school for Episode 1053 with a two-man trip through the murky waters of work, food, animals, baseball, fishing and whatever else gets in the way.

Mason talks about wanting a change after years in the automotive world, which turns into a discussion about job burnout, the misery of restaurant management and one coworker's spectacular failure to understand appropriate workplace behavior.

The guys also kick around ideas for bringing green screens and ridiculous backgrounds into the video version of the show before somehow finding their way to rhinos, buffalo attacks, bulls, edibles and old-school Looney Tunes.

Then it's time to eat. Chicken & waffles, pizza buffets, Gentleman Ju Bourbon, Captain Ju Rum, Fogo de Chão and enormous steak challenges all make their way onto the menu.

Ju Unit recaps his trip to a Richmond Flying Squirrels game, including the new stadium experience and the ever-rising price of seeing sports in person. Then a simple fishing trip turns into a search for a mysterious 60-acre pond that apparently exists on the map but doesn't seem to have an actual way to reach it.

Add in flooded rivers, Virginia thunderstorms and driving through a wall of torrential rain, and you've got another rickety voyage aboard The Mason & Friends Show.

Uncensored. Unplanned. Still floating after 1,053 episodes.

For this particular episode, I think the workplace story around 7:10–10:00 is probably your strongest opening clip/Short candidate. It gets into the story quickly, has a clear escalation, and doesn't require much context to understand.
